Today’s “DO MORE, ACHIEVE MORE” multi-tasking mentality has many American workers feeling stressed and strung out. When we feel like there are not enough hours in the day to “clear our plate,” combining activities like eating and answering email has become commonplace. Who has time to JUST EAT when there is so much to get done in a day? The big myth is that multi-tasking is more efficient when in actuality, research shows our brain can only attend to one thing at a time, so while we think we’re doing two things at once, we’re really shifting focus over and over which causes stress accumulation in the nervous system.
With increased research findings that mono-tasking increases productivity while reducing stress, many companies are embracing Mindfulness teachings as a way to help their employees manage and reduce stress throughout the workday while also becoming more efficient. PeaceBox is available for such training, and Whole Foods Market held a Lunch & Learn session with us last month!
PeaceBox will be leading a MINDFUL EATING Lunch & Learn session for co-working spaces at Journey Coworking on Monday, July 31 from 12-1 PM. This session is open to the public to attend for $5 if signed up here in advance, $10 at the door, and Journey members are welcome to attend for FREE. Bring your favorite brown-bag lunch and join this 1-hour MINDFUL EATING training and learn how doing one thing at a time releases stress and improves overall health and wellness.
